David Miskelly MVB MRCVS (Partner)

David Miskelly MVB MRCVS (Partner) David grew up in rural Northern Ireland. Graduating from Dublin Vet School in 1995, he initially worked in mixed practice in Derbyshire before deciding Scotland was a much nicer place (!) and moved to Torphins in 1997. After working as an assistant, he became a partner in 2001 and is the mainstay on the farm side of our practice. Outwith work David and his wife, Louise, have a young family to keep them busy. But of course they also find time for their dogs and their smallholding of cattle, sheep and hens. Their particular interest is breeding and showing Zwarbles and Suffolk sheep and Abyssinian cats.

Bill McCance at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins, Banchory

Bill enjoys time out with his dogs and is very keen on outdoor pursuits especially fishing, hillwalking, cycling and cross-country skiing if weather allows, and if he can keep up with his children!

Leanne Dawson at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins, Banchory

Leanne Dawson BVMS DBR MRCVS (Partner)

Leanne is a local lass, born and raised in Banchory. She came to Woodside frequently both as a school and university student. After graduating from Glasgow Vet School in 1999, she worked in mixed practice in North Wales. After completing a residency and a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction at Liverpool University in 2003, she remained there to co-run its Farm Animal Practice. She returned to private practice in 2005 working in Lancashire before finally returning home in 2008. At home Leanne keeps and breeds Abyssinian cats as well as having her dogs, Corrie and Alfie, sheep and hens.

Shannon Stewart at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins, Banchory

Shannon Stewart BVM&S MRCVS

Shannon is originally from Elgin in Moray and graduated from Edinburgh vet school in July 2015, joining Woodside in January 2016. She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice.

Ramsay Duncan at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins, Banchory

Ramsay Duncan BVM&S MRCVS

Ramsay grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 1973. He worked in various practices within the UK before coming to Torphins in 1983. He became a partner in 1984 and was one of the founders of the clinic as we know it today. He was involved in its planning and construction in 1987 utilising his wealth of knowledge gleaned from working within one of Britain's first veterinary hospitals in Hampshire. In 2012 Ramsay retired from the partnership but we are very lucky to be able to maintain his considerable experience within the practice on a part-time basis doing small animal consultations and surgery. This is especially of reassurance to the younger members of our team. Ramsay and his wife, Angela, have 3 grown up children. Ramsay easily occupies his, now extra, free time being an enthusiastic hill walker, mountain biker and swimmer. He is also a keen amateur historian with a particular interest in naval history.

Rachael graduated from Glasgow University Vet School in 2012. After graduating she headed off to Canada to work on a family farm. She came back to the UK to work in a large animal practice in Cumbria, working with beef and dairy cows, as well as her main passion, sheep! Rachael decided to head homeward, joining us in May 2014.

When not at work she can be found out on the hill with her spaniel, Clover, or busy in her kitchen baking something yummy!

Cameron Richardson at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins, Banchory

In his spare time Cameron enjoys climbing, skiing, mountain biking and fussing over his arthritic collie Floss, the world's worst working dog.
